This is great. It almost has the feeling of a painting rather than a photograph. The pose of the daughter is classic. I've always thought that you had a special gift when it comes to family shots.

Thanks Jack.  I've always liked this photo.  Its rather ordinary for the most part, but the pose and expression of the daughter is one that only a daughter could have.  Its like she's thinking about her mom wistfully remembering something.

Two generation, so exclusively  composed  and  photographed, it  is  full of emotion  and  love. You get  this  shot  really  nicely Steve. Excellent. Why  don't  you try it  in a classical  way, turn it  to B&W.(?)  I would.  It brings  me  back a lovely memory of  my dear friend, an old lady  from the church,   she  called  me,  "My son"  and  I  respected  and loved her as  my adopted  mother. She  is  gone a couple  of years ago,  at 104. This  lady  looks almost like  she  was. Thank you  for the  memories Steve.

A beautiful double portrait, Steve.  To me the women are illustrative of their roles - the older one seated in a relaxed and static way with her shawl, perhaps a storyteller and respected adviser; the younger one, with her apron and strong hand, and more dynamic pose, an experienced and hard worker.

I love the warm colors and earthy tones in the lamp, fabrics, and wood.  Bela suggested B&W, and that would also work, as it did in your "Iris and Jennifer making Cookies" shot (another two-generation photo).
