Gus

I really don't "need" more photos of Gus, but he and his housemate

Lydia are readily available subjects for lens testing. Here I was

experimenting with focus adjustment with my 50mm f 1.4 manual focus

lens, which is quite sharp even at f 2, as you can see here. I love

his somewhat annoyed expression here.

They say that dogs have owners but cats have staff, that makes you the staff photographer for Gus.

I recently acquired the same camera body and a 35mm/f1.8 lens.  I tested it on a stuffed animal because I don't have a living subject.  Your "live" animal was very cooperative with a nice result.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  Most people think of lens testing as in photographing a chart with lines on it.  Since I shoot this type of lens primarily for people and animals at large apertures, I want to know if I can focus it on a the subject's eyes, and how the out of focus areas look.  A line chart just can't tell me that!

Yes, ears back, just starting to get annoyed.  Fine crisp shot of a nice cat.

Beautiful portrait Steve. I would suggest making the background on the left side darker. Make a print of this in black and white. The direct look is very powerful.
