This picture feels post apocalyptic as if the snow will never melt and things will gradually deteriorate until the whole thing just crumbles away.

Michael, an interesting digital alteration. It makes the image a bit old-timey, with the modern car and open trunk a non-sequitur. There is more story here than at first glance. I'm going to come back later and take another look, see what else might pop out at me.

And then there is the guy going into the house as though in a hurry, probably just cold. Very interesting image Michael. It does have a dated feel which I like.

Thank you all for your interesting and helpful comments.  I shot this photograph while my cousin was driving back to his house from Letchworth State Park (western New York).  It shows winter conditions that historically have been common for this area.  Climate change may lead to different observations.

 

In any case, looking back at the metadata, I now realize that most of my camera settings (shutter speed too slow, aperture too small) were inappropriate, especially since I was in a moving car.
