DavidTriplett 12,682 Posted February 21, 2016 Michael, very nicely composed, with strong colors. I'm confused by the bright spot, as it does not seem an expected part of the flower. If I understood what it is, perhaps that would add the final, impressive touch to a lovely image. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted February 21, 2016 Thanks, David. Actually the original image shows the center as including mostly reddish tones with an inner ring that was more purple. I tried brightening that area for more contrast. Link to comment
luxborealis 0 Posted February 21, 2016 ... but if you are going to edit the photo, do so to make it stronger - like removing the small spots on the petals at the right. I know it's "nature" but unless you are using this photo to show the early deterioration of petals (which, given the composition leads me to believe you are not), then remove them. If you want a pretty flower picture then make it pretty. Also, check your white point as it seems a bit low. Link to comment
luxborealis 0 Posted February 23, 2016 ...now comes the question of the highlight in the middle of the flower. It certainly makes your photograph memorable, but perhaps for the wrong reasons. I mean removing it will mske the photo another flower phot; keeping it does make it different. Link to comment
