Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 10, 2016 Please view in larger mode. The blue time of day is intruding on the ice at Lake Minnetonka. Temperatures have been dipping below zero F at night. Your comments are appreciated and valued. Link to comment
Sandy Vongries 34,377 Posted February 10, 2016 Excellent photo. You handled the dual light sources perfectly.Somewhat familiar with the area, brings it all back. Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 11, 2016 Sandy, Many thanks for your visit and comment. As photographers we get wrapped up in our own images. It is only through the perception of others that we can really evaluate our successes and failures. Ansel Adams had said that every image has at least two people in it - the viewer and the photographer. Thanks for validating this image for me. I am making an effort to do more images in our own locale. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 11, 2016 Mike, Thanks for your visit as well. The fact that you and Sandy both mention the dual light sources in this image validates that they are central. i truly appreciate your regular feedback. Your views are always valued. Larry Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 11, 2016 Holger, You bet it was cold and still is. This was one of those get in and out as soon as possible to keep the fingers warm situations. Thanks for the visit and comment. Larry Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted February 25, 2016 You've creatively and skillfully captured the beauty of this place, thanks to your composition and pov, for openers. The additional color which the sunset and street lamp lend to the scene augments the stark appearance of the tree, the pilings, and the area of snow. In my opinion, winter scenes in your part of the world offer so much more grist for the photographic mill. Living in southern Florida, the landscape remains substantially the same year round. My congratulations on the POTD. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted February 26, 2016 The elves chose well this time! A well processed image with nice lighting and mood. Bravo Larry!. Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted March 7, 2016 I am a bit late on the scene here, but will add my congratulations to the well deserved accolades above!I think it's the street light that really sets the mood, whilst the tree on the right provides great balance and framing. Nothing at all I would change here!Nice work Larry! Alf Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi Alf, Thanks for your positive comments. I have been away, so have had a hiatus with PN. Getting back now. Larry Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted March 26, 2016 Nicely composed with appealing color and details. The white of the lamp is almost like a replacement for the sun. All of the best, Link to comment
