Really- what is going on here? Trimming? Pruning? Harvesting? Not many olive trees in our area :)

Not many years ago a simple long heavy wooden stick was the only way to drop the olives from the trees.

this electric rotating device does the same job much faster and without hurting the tree. Olives fall on the nets, then gathered in sacks waiting for their turn in the Olive mills to give their precious oil.

The olive havest, an important moment of Mediterranean culture. Also near Tivoli, where I live, this one is the birth oil, one of the most impotant component of our diet.
