An excellent portrait, to be sure.  The detail is almost microscopic and exceptionally sharp, and it really seems to fit this man's facial expression.  He appears to be a no-nonsense, resolute, and straightforward person.  Accordingly, it is no wonder you chose this compositional style for the image.

Wonderful portrait of a relaxed and happy gentleman in which you have portrayed those qualities with admirable intensity.

A fine photo of a very interesting face, a touch of wry humor, possibly, in the expression.  This is a person one could photograph quite a few times with very different feelings and results .  A person who would have stories to tell, an excellent photo that hints at them.
