On the Beacon Park side of the old Free Library and Museum in

Lichfield City, England, is this statue of a sailor from the time of the

Boer War. His hat bears the title HMS Powerful, dressed in field

service order, holding a Lee-Enfield rifle (now broken) in both hands,

with his fingers next to the trigger as if ready to fire. It was given to

the City of Lichfield in 1905 by Robert Bridgeman (who carved the

figure). All comments very welcome, thank you.

Nice lesson of history.

I see the lighting was difficult with strong lights and dark shadows. It gives the sailor an even more dramatic feel. B&W works well of course.
