Closing shop!

This fisherman closes shop for the day as the fish did not show up

I had to look up Smelt to see what they are, we don't have them here.  They must be tasty to draw so many fishermen.  Would I be considered a wimp if I put outriggers on my ice house? ;-).  Good shot, the red is an excellent accent... Mike

Yes,these little guys are tasty;here,we like them cleaned,turned in flour and pan fried.Aside from the acquired taste,the interest exhibited by the fishermen is multi-fold...1)It is a way to stay near the water in awaiting the melt for the start of the lobster/crab/mackerel/herring/shrimp/scallop seasons...2)A way to stay competitive....3)A good place to socialize with the boys...or 4)Just a nice getaway....etc. To show up here with outriggers on your cabin would surely raise eyebrows ,maybe get people thinking you are experimenting with a new sport like cabin surfing or whatever.Yes,some take great pride in having good paint schemes for their mansions which in turn make for good photo opps.

Thank you.Fishing was not that good on this day this fisheman told me,so he was closing shop early.If you happen by anytime,you will be invited to come in,drop a line....or have a beer.Good stuff!
