Beautiful ! Hard to get such sharp detail in the moon

Thanks for your comments. I used a ND graduated filter to balance the exposure but I was surprised to see the detail preserved in the moon.

Magnificent dark colors and the variety of textures are the mainstay of this image.  The moon's detail is amazing.

Long exposure?  I'd be interested in seeing your exif data.

Thanks. This is a scanned slide, so no EXIF data. I didn't record the exposure the old fashioned way either unfortunately. I'm fairly sure that I shot ISO 50 or 100, at f22, and that the exposure was longer than 4 seconds...

I was messing around with the original, and enlarged the moon for impact.
