'The Wrapping: A Kickboxing Prefight Ritual'

Well before any Thai kickbox fight in Bangkok, there is an elaborate set of time-

honored rituals that must be followed, including the rubdown (upper center) and here,

the wrapping of the wrists before placing on the gloves. A young boy watches as he

eats his candy from a cup. Your ratings, critiques and observations are invited and

Thanks so much for the comment; I went through thousands of photos before I chose this one, and then wondered should I show it in B&W since the color version was pretty darn good.

I included a partial, but partially hidden, link to a portfolio for folks to hunt for the color version, and the page counter for that portfolio has gone wild today; I think that accounts for why so few comments other than yours.  People may be trolling through 1,000 mostly color photos in my portfolio there looking for this in color to make the comparison rather than commenting?  I think that is a true possibility.

I've been watching closely your work with the cold weather and with female models with much interest, and find it wonderful.  Thank you for the compliment.

I searched through literally thousands of photos before I found this image, and although it's somewhat old, think it has grown on me with age.  It's a D70 photo at the limits of its ISO range.  With a more modern camera its grittiness might not be so pronounced, but the subject -- well, I just can't improve much for being interesting and for composition so long as the little boy is there fishing in that cup with his wide eyes on the boxer in ritual.
