Leica produced four 35-mm, f/2.0 lenses. I took this picture with my first

Leica lens, a Version Two. Version Four is famously the best, so I later

bought one of those and disposed of my Version Two.

Years later I saw comparison images taken with four versions. I strongly

preferred Version Two,so I rescanned some negatives I had taken a long

time ago with my Version Two.

There is a lot to like in this shot and it immediately caught my attention. The shadow lines are pretty amazing and the bottom right shadow almost appears to be chasing the person carrying the bag. Congratulations on such fine work.

The image is definitely a fine one with a strong shadows at the right and with some details on the left,I guess it's a whole fine contrast image.

I am a Nikon user and have never grabbed a Leica in my hands,I have read a lot about Leica and its fine results, and I'd kindly ask you this question, Does really Leica produce images that other brands like Nikon couldn't produce? this is if you are familiar with nikon or other brands.

Thank you so much in advance.

Regards.

I use Canon as well as Leica, and I think modern Canon and Nikon lenses produce a very similar look. Leica lenses produce images that seem more relaxed while still sharp. It's not just better glass, it is also that they are designed with different goals.

After using them for a while, you recognise that Leica look unconsciously, particularly in blurry bits. Fuji seems to design lenses a little more like Leica does, if that helps. Thanks a lot Saad. best, jamie

Jamei,I appreciate your reply to my question.

It would still a puzzle in my mind, the price difference between similar lenses of Leica and other brands doesn't explain to me that small difference in quality.

I have stopped using Canon for its raw images are not malleable to editing in my hands as much as Nikon raw images.I have once used Panasonic lumix LX3 and LX5 which uses fine Leica lenses, and was very much unsatisfied with their results, I get rid of the two cameras with loss.

Anyway I guess its something that the professionals seek in the images that I can't see by my own eyes.Or may be I have to grab one and check the results myself.

Thank you so much for your time and your opinion.

Accept my best regards.

everyone chooses what he or she feels to be worthwhile. you spent a lot more than you needed to, but you felt it was worth it.

soon after i bought the leica, i took it on a one-hundred-mile walking trip. when i returned, my slr seemed needlessly enormous and clumsey. it's not just that the lenses are better. the bodies also allow you to work much more quickly and smoothly.

another thing to consider is that if you buy leica used, you almost never lose money, as you do with nikon and canon. that said, i am not fond of leica digital. too expensive for me. hope that helps. best, jamie
