Nice shot, really like the tree and atmosphere. Maybe next time come down lower to cut some of the sky. It has a lot of empty space, rule of thirds!

Thank you for looking in and for the observation.I agree with you that whenever feasible, the ''rule of thirds'' should be applied. Here,I played around with different crops and stopped at this which I thought offered the best balance;the centroid of the tree is located roughly at the life buoy which is also roughly at the thirds point of the image;getting a thirds balance between ground and sky was not possible given the upclose POV and slicing off the top would have brought the star too close to the edge for my liking.Glad you liked it enough to stop by....Wish you a Happy New Year!

A novel Christmas tree and a very good documentary.  I'm surprised to see bare earth though, thought you'd be several feet deep in snow... Mike

Hey Laurent, is this the tree you set up when we threatened in great numbers to join you for Christmas? An outside-tree to accommodate everybody?:):)

A very creative tree, fitting for your area, well captured.

This was taken on the 25th just after the rain had worked on the white blanket delivered for Christmas eve.Winter has regained its rights and given us a few good layers since but still far from what we had last year. This is a welcomed break for both me and my old tractor. The tree was dreamed up by the local committee and the fishermen gladly donated the traps, buoys and stuff....plus the elbow grease to put it up.Glad you like!

I was looking for you in the crowd.....guess you missed the charter bus.Thank you on behalf of those responsible for planning and putting this up;I also think it was befitting the Island.

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent

When I was a boy in Southern California we used to pile up tumbleweeds into an ersatz Christmas tree. This is better. Now, if there were only some lobsters in there...

Glad you like. Lobster would have been a little stiff sitting in those cages at -10C...but the ones we picked up at the market for the evening meal were pretty good.
