Long telephoto view south along Main Street in Logan, Utah; Late Autumn. This is my

first exploration of intentional "street" photography, so technical/aesthetic comments

humbly requested. Please also see B&W version. Thank you.

Hello,

I like the color version because of the warm tone. However I think the shadows would be longer and cover more of the bright pavement if this was shot a little late in the afternoon. This could balance out the bright foreground.

Supriyo, thank you for the feedback. My sense is that having the entire image in shadow would have taken a lot of life out of the shot. As it was, my opportunity to capture this image was happenstance, when my noon appointment was delayed, and I had about 45 minutes to shoot. Sometimes timing is luck of the draw, like lighting and weather. Still, I think a bit of sunlight adds more than it detracts. Thanks again, David.

The color version attracted me.  I am not sure if the objects on the left side added much value for me so I decided to do a crop and some tonal balancing. I never claim that my version is better - it is just food for thought.

All the best and I appreciate you describing the circumstances,

Tony, thank you for your time and interest. It was a wrestle to keep/delete the trees and poles along the street side of this image. I finally decided they were too important to remove. I had been looking for a good opportunity to experiment with telephoto compression in an urban setting, so inclusion of the trees, et al, tightly overlapped, was integral to the image. I'm still mad at myself for not moving the cone out of the way, but I did not really see it at the time. FYI: The far canopy is just over 500 meters away, and the Bluebird sign is about 300 meters from my camera. Thanks again.
