Composition was the downfall here. You've cropped a man in half on the left, and the man to the right seems to have been in mid sentence.

Thanks for your input. Always interesting how different folks interpret scenes.

At first, I thought of cropping out the left guy totally- he wasn't anymore in the frame originally, so couldn't change that- but then I realized he was just off to the side, not doing much, yet still interested in the work, so I left him, as sort of half way there. The expression on the glass guy was him "working" the piece with is face. It was too loud- from the furnaces- for any kind of conversation to be going on. I thought it added to the intensity of the artist.

I'm sorry. I have to agree with Jenny on the crop. There really isn't a valid explanation for half a figure in this frame. One learns by critique. He could have been cropped out completely. It's also tilted. The glass blower is your subject
