This telephoto image is from the test firing of a new solid rocket booster for the USA

manned spaceflight program. This is a development of the shuttle booster for the

forthcoming Space Launch System. This was a major pre-flight test of a full-up

booster. Angle of view was dictated by designated observation point for non-VIP's. The

image is not nearly so impressive as the sound, which hit us like a solid wall of air

pressure about 10 seconds after ignition. I wish I could have captured that experience.

An impressive show and low light capture.  I'll be glad when they master the anti-gravity / ion / whatever propulsion.. Mike
