October Abstract (revisited)

Love the way you shot this through a fence. Good DOF and the colors are nicely saturated. My eye wants to see something different in the upper right hand corner, but not sure what... Your border is a bit too heavy - it weighs your image down but otherwise this is nice autumn abstract.

Vlad, this version seems slightly better. It is a well conceived design idea that I hope you will explore further. Regards, Linda

Margaret and Linda, thanks for stopping by and your feedback. I increased contrast relatively previous upload and it works. Yes, I may agree that right corner a tad more dark and probably needs more light to be separated from the border. I also agree, that the frame should be less massive.

Hey Vlad - did you remove the original that you're talking about? I would have liked to compare this image to that as well as read the comments that were left there.

Yes, Lou Ann, I deleted less successful image and replaced it with *improved* one. If I find a copy I'll post it in attachment. The difference isn't so dramatic, as I said I only increased contrast slightly, it's visible on well-calibrated monitor. As for comments, there was one more or less detailed by Linda. I can recal that her comment in part resembled what Margaret said here, heavy frame and not very good separation of dark areas of an image from the frame, especially in upper right corner. She also said that this fence in fg didn't look fine, maybe because it merged with bg in dark areas. Sorry, if I misinterpreted. Lou Ann, I appreciate your interest and feedback.

 

I am not good on this kind work but I think the composition, the color and the light condition are all nice.

I like very much the inclusion of the fence in the foreground ....
