Thanks Greg & Verena! Sometimes, they fly by close enough in good light will result in image like this.  I don't have much light today and got some with blurry wings which are also interesting (to project motion).

I've never seen a shoveler duck before.  Great shot, Tm.

Tim, outstanding execution to capture such a sharp, detailed, and colorful image of this bird in full flight. I have to wonder how many exposures it took to get this one? You get full points for a perfectly controlled pan, matched exactly to your exposure settings. Well done. Oh, and go have a Balboa Bar with rainbow sprinkles for me;)

Thanks Janine! The both male / female are beautifully colours with the male more colourful than the female and they like to fly short distance in light breeze. Lately they don't do that but fly from pond to pond and this one was close enough that I don't have to crop much and that result in better details.

I was going to tell you I don't drink out any more since driving on the left side walk to go home is .. dangerous but then I look up the Balboa Bar and I think I can handle all that with the rainbow sprinkles . What's the heck .. I've just bought a new pants to go to a funeral and it should fit till after X-mas. :-)
