Beautiful shot. This is an artistic and personal taste comment: I would have moved her all the way to the right so that the railing leads the eye to her and it would have blocked the items on the wall and the partial chair on the right side.

Tony, your observation is good.  My style in these types of situations is quick and non leading.  It was rather dark too.  I simply aimed the camera at her and quickly snapped a shot because I liked her expression.  In other words, there is no posing or directing when I do my "casual portraits." The idea is not to interrupt the "flow"  of the person I am photographing, except just for literally a moment, ie 1/60 sec.  I may have moved myself a little to the left if I had noticed the railing, but I didn't.  I have been using this approach since the 60's!
