Greg, this one is nice, but not as engaging as some of your other recent images. I think the deep DoF leaves me uncertain of what you really want me to look at. The colors are lovely, and the overall composition good, yet it does not grab me like your other work. I'll keep looking.

Thanks, Mike-  Donavan would be greatly disappointed!

Dave, thanks for your honest pov.

I guess  what I find of interest is the depth one can see here and the different layers of a fall woods- in our case, huge rhododendrons, evergreen in the bg, with the beeches "floating" in front all framed by the 2 trees. Yellows certainly aren't "eye-catching", like reds and oranges, hence, the mellow title. Keep looking- not done yet!

Greg, I know I am playing "what if", but, what if: You looked through these trees to an opening in the forest, perhaps at a cabin or other object in a clearing, or a lake, or to some other secondary subject? I'm playing this for myself for the day when I might find this kind of opportunity, as much as for anything else. It is not a criticism of your image. It is beautiful and wonderfully expresses your intent. Besides, I'm trying to learn too.
