Wise Man in Narhotar Village, Pakistan

Back in 2006 in Abottabad district. They had a Community Meeting. We

were invited as guests. The men were sitting in one room, the women

were assembled in the adjoining room. The door between the two rooms

was half open. The men could speek to the women but without looking at

them. The women were encuraged to participe in the discussion. This is

a big step forward in the traditionally very conservative society.

After the meeting some of the men accepted to pose for a portrait. Of

course I could not ask the women to do so. Thanks for your comments

This is a lovely portrait, so full of life. Very engaging. The black and white treatment with lighter tones fits the mood very well. Great shot.

'Not alot to say technically, but it looks like a fine, fine portrait. 'Wonderful expression, tones, textures, bokeh.

Those people you have met and lived with are now being stained by media as a savages and blood thirsty becsuse of their faith.you definitely knows the truth.

A fine portrait of seemingly a wise guy,I could imagine it better if you deepen the midtones a tad.
