While at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary a few years back, we were at

the end of our day there. I was sitting on a stump, tying my

shoelaces when I spotted this Ibis coming round a picnic table right

in front of me. Unfortunately I was not able to get to the ground

without scaring him...kind of lost his feet with the POV I had, but still

wanted the shot! I think they are fascinating birds!

Fascinating and beautiful in their own way Gail. The details are nice and clear and I can understand about his lack of feet, at least you got the rest of him and what you did get came out great.

Best Always, Holger

It's a wonderful close up shot with great sharpness and detail. It might be worth trying to get rid of that dark upper timber that tends to draw the eye. But I am probably being overly fussy!

Very well done Gail!

Hi Alf,

I agree with you re the dark area in the upper left. It is part of the Picnic bench leg and something that another guest had leaned up against it. I tried using the 'content aware' tool to see if I could have any luck that way; cropping was not an answer if I wanted to show the whole bird, (I don't have really any decent bird captures); cloning just frustrated me. I will play with it some more when I have more time....there has to be a solution. If you think of anything, sure would appreciate a 'nod in the right direction'. Always appreciate your feedback :)

Funny, at least I did not cut off part of the bird's head :).  By the time I took this shot I was really tired, my shoes were rubbing a blister on a toe, and it was so Humid I was ready to throw something :0 - but I refrained. So, I guess all said and done, I did okay restraining myself and captured what I could!! Thanks so much for stopping by - always good to hear from you my friend!
