Not Here 93 Posted August 3, 2016 Excellent color, lighting and natural presence. It would be interesting to see the EXIF data for this shot... Mike Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted August 3, 2016 Sorry for the delayed response Mike. I had to dig out backup drives to find it. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted August 3, 2016 Thanks Michail... I have events like this sometimes and just wanted to see if you approached it the same as I do since you got some excellent results... Mike Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted August 4, 2016 I choose to seat far away from the scene (>20m - >66ft). This way even with f/4 i have enough DOF. I prefer shutter priority in order to adjust speed acording to the movement of the dancers. Sometimes they fly, sometimes they give excellent poses while staying still, sometimes i want them blurred, half blurred etc. I always check if the aperture value i get at any speed is not blinking, you know, telling me it is not enough. You probably know all these things but the one parameter i want to underline the importance of NEGATIVE exposure compensation. Always from -1 to -2,5 (or even more!!!) as the bigger part of the frame is pitch black, with only the dancers being lit by very strong lights. This could easily lead to over exposured main theme and perfectly lit background. If your approach is different i am very interested to know Mike. Link to comment
