This is an ancient Anasazi pictograph panel located a little north of the San Rafael River in central Utah. This photo has been manipulated in two ways: First, it is impossible to obtain a single image of the entire panel due to boulders, fences, and a shade structure positioned between the panel and the road. The only way to make this image is to stitch together several images. The source images were oversized in order to allow space to crop the stitched image. Second, I used Lightroom to enhance the visibility of the pigments used by the Ancients. They are quite visible to the naked eye, but the camera sensor loses them to a large degree, so I used the Develop module to punch up the reds and ochers of the pigments. If I were to do this again, I would also use the manual lens correction tool to correct for the receding perspective at the right end of the panel.

Any thoughts on this approach and its effectiveness?
