If not a tourist intrusion, then your own shadow works it's way into the shot ;-).

I think I read that you also have a Sony a6000.  What are your impressions of that camera?  I'm thinking of getting one for my wife... Mike

Thanks Mr. Mancil! That's me in the image :-) - I love the A6000 also, especially for the price since I paid around $500 for a great used one from B&H and I've also bought the SEL18-200 to use with. That's what I'ved used mostly on my trip to Europe. I bought the A6000 because I was curious to see if I can use it for birdshooting (11 fps) and I did manage to get some flying birdshot while manual focusing. To me, one can not go wrong with Sony mirrorless if you buy them used (price drop substantially due to most people don't know how to use them, I think) and an A6000 + SEL 18-200mm  or A7/A7R + FE 24-240mm is about what most people need. I really like this 10-18mm on my A7R (usable range is 12mm to 17mm since it's lens built for cropped sensor like the A6000). It's great in cropped mode on the A7/A7R at 15mp but I am greedy and I shoot in fullframe mode then cut out the fuzzy peripheral area. Btw, I bought my 10-18mm on amazon as an international version for around $614 or so. Cost much more from B&H for the US version.

One more thing, originally I bought the $400 Metabones adapter to used all my Sony's with my Canon lenses (including my 500mm F4) but then I found that a $100 (Amazon) Commlite works just fine. So, I sold the Metabones at a loss of $75 and bought 2 Commlite adapter instead. This is in case you buy the A6000 and wants to put your Nikon lenses on the Sony then you can try that route. Don't know if it may /may not work for you but for me I don't see any differences with using my Canon Lenses on the Sonys .. .mostly it's auto focus slow but I don't care much because I manual focus using colour peaking feature on Sony.

Wow, thanks for the info.  I have a few weeks to decide if Santa is going to be real, real nice to her and bring a camera.  She has an older Nikon L110 that's not a bad camera but it's real slow and the image aspect ratio drives me crazy (have to edit and crop every frame) it's like messing with a phone image all the time.  The 3:2 ratio is worth the change....
