Not exactly what is meant by 'balance' in a photograph but that too is well demonstrated here.  If your subject didn't have good balance he'd likely do a 'face plant' on the turf. :-)  I like the look of concentration on your subject's face.  The ball is critical in informing the viewer of what is happening.  Remove the ball & the meaning becomes distorted.  Beautiful lighting for revealing details throughout, especially in his face.  I also like your choice to present in B&W for the classic look, and a DOF which helps to isolate the subject.  Very nicely done!  Best, Len.

Great form - great capture - 

We play Bocce at the here at the house, we do not have a court so we use the entire lawn with all of it's undulations. The hard core don't call it real but is is challenging.

We just tell them SHUT UP AND PLAY THE GAME!
