I like this one, Chuck, the tones and especially the use of space. The open sky contrasts well with the detailed lines of the trees and field.

I agree with Jack. It really is quite beautiful. We don't often see the beauty after the leaves fall and the fields dry out. There are so many beautiful textures to behold!

 

Thanks. I try to look at options when composing a shot and I wanted to have some sky in this to show some depth and have a textural composition that had elements that compliment each other, like the busy trees and the simple sky in this case.

You are certainly someone who notices the beauty in places that other people don't see it. I think that b&w works well in images that don't have a lot of nice color. Sometimes when I like an image I'm working on and it's not turning into something I like, I try b&w like I did on this image. I like b&w anyway, so it's not like I'm sacrificing something anyway.
