magnificent light,

 

wonderful, spare composition.

 

upper left colour gives me the feeling of having blown out a little. always grabs my attention. wonder what it might look like darker. it's pretty subtle already, though. j

Hi Jamie, yes, the highlights in the upper corner are blown, the iridescent bands, however, were there in the layers of fog. The blown highlights were intentional. The light was so bright, it was blown out in real life as well, and in some shots I was going for a high-key effect with a patch of sunlight that's absolutely blinding and lets you only guess what's there. Above is a different crop of the same image.
