I saw photos of this location many times and found the same problem.  The lightest part in upper right shows no details whereas various parts are completely dark.  The beauty of B&W is to show the range of grey scale which is missed in this photo.

Hi Petre.  "The beauty of B&W is to show the range of grey scale which is missed in this photo."  . . . Please tell this to Ansel Adams; 'West Slop of Mount Whitney, Sierra Nevada, California, 1932'  LOOKING AT ANSEL ADAMDS  Page; 77.  And please check your monitor calibration too.

Happy New Year.

Well, the photo is yours.  And the photo reflects the degree you master your camera and technique of photo taking.  Anyway, a poor photo is still a poor photo.

Peter,  thank you for your  constructive  comments  and  the offering  for the "lecture"  how  to process photography.  I hope, you going  to demonstrate  for  me, by  posting  some  expertly  processed  images, photographs. I'm  looking  forward excitedly  to  seeing them.

A wonderful  day to You.

Bela.

I find the tones intriguing-the light through the hole and the dark edges reveal the diversity in conditions in this place. The colors of this place are often the star, but they can be overdone. Here we see the the structure and form so beautifully.

Bela,  Wow! Superb use of form and curves to create a wonderful piece of art.  Bruce Barnbaum in his book The Art of Photography has some  similar slot canyon images.  You'd probably enjoy looking at his work too.  Wonderful image.  Larry
