This image popped up in my eyesight when I happened to look high up at a tree in the garden. Got out the camera & a tele zoom lens. Shot the rather far away (about five meters, 15') group of leaves. 

Comparing a photo with a painting can be a very tricky affair. Both are considered art forms but are not identical although they may show images of the world around the artist.

Lots of philosophical thoughts have been developed on this subject. Type into Google "photography versus painting" and you'll see a vast array of articles dealing with that comparison.

I guess, you've mentioned it as a result of finding a kind of beauty in this photo which, to you, resembles a painting where the painter had put subjective feelings into the production of a scene s/he saw & tried to represent.

So far, so good, it's an endless subject ;-)
