Larger view preferred. Lightpost? Why not? This is the mainstreet of

Stillwater on the west bank of the St. Croix River separating

Minnesota and Wisconsin. Being on the river, Stillwater offers a

number of serious hills and cliffs; this being one. Stillwater,

Minnesota's first city, is a retail extravaganza for those looking for

quaint antique and gift shops and restaurants. The St. Croix is a

national scenic river way. As in interstate city, a major feature is the

old, historic, drawbridge that is known to snarl traffic between

Wisconsin and Minnesota. The answer is a new four lane span that

will leave Stillwater's charm in its wake. Thanks for your comments.

Nice colors and abstract elements on the wall. I like the image very much.

The lamp post looked a bit 'out of place' but your text explains it very well.   I would probably return at sundown and 'work' this scene with different light.

All the very best,

HI LARRY_-I find myself moving away from the overall landscape & choosing a slice of the landscape instead with the greater detail.Actually, your fine image is an excellent example. Your POV is excellent , capturing the sharpness & life like detail of the various grasses & the boulder. The bright green cluster at top centre continually draws the eyes of the viewer.Likewise, the boulder is interesting with the various colours & shapes. Of course, you recognized the possibilities & produced an image that is pleasurable to view. Best Regards-Ross
