the end of summer

The first foggy mornings make it pretty obvious: it may still be warm,

but summer's definitely coming too an end. Time to go apple picking.

I have various versions of this image: the way I perceived the scene

was darker, but later, at home, I enjoyed the lighter version more.

A difficult image to present, light or dark. The mist mutes and softens the colours and detail. Good composition and framing with the water adding interest. Well done, regards Ken.

Thank you Ken. As mentioned before: I have various versions of this image. This one started out light and I increased the contrast a tiny bit and increased the vibrancy a tad. the sun had been burning off the morning fog for one, two hours and was just about to break through.

Looking at it again, I am surprised how remote it looks. It's a piddly little pond in our town. badly neglected and clear evidence that my fellow citizens use way too much lawn fertilizer.
