The Coast Guard boat takes a break for a hull inspection on the end of

the fishing season.

Thank you for your comment-Laurent

strong composition with bold colours, although the shadow stripe on the red boat distracts my eye a bit. Might be even better with more of the red boat in the frame? Nice work anyhow.

Erik

Thank you for looking in and for the kind observation. The sun was high at midday, shadows were everywhere and this boat was heading back in the water so I could not wait for better light;I though about cloning out that shaded strip but decided against before uploading as I was not so sure about the results. But you were right and I enclose a quick attempt;better?

Hi Laurent!

We both feel the shadow really doesn't distract- rather it affords a tone of reality- this is not a portrait of a boat, but documentation of an event.

However, the lens distortion making the crane (or whatever it's called) lean in is a little off-setting. Could be corrected- on the other hand, it kind of adds a touch of snazziness to the pic :)

On the other hand-- (3 hands?) the cloning you did looks quite well done.

Thank you for the kind observation.I know the WA pull can be distracting but you know I use this lense extensively and like the particular twist it gives my ordinary and repetitive scenes.I did the quick clone job to attach to my response to Erik;guess downsizing required smoothed out the kinks.

Thank you!The Blue White Red and Yellow is a popular combination here....all being in our ACADIAN flag.

Laurent, I think the cloning out of the shadow is an improvement - I like the angles of the crane and, as others have commented, the strong colour composition. Great work! Regards, Erik
