... we realize that blue moons are just as orange as regular ones :-)

But it still amazes me every time just how big it looks hanging there

over the horizon. All those papers on "The Moon Illusion" don't help a

bit.

thanks for reminding me. The timing is perfect with the eclipse starting around 9 PM. I better scout some good location for an eclipse shot on Saturday. That one should actually be blood orange. The forecast is "partly cloudy" but let's be optimistic.

My initial comment referred to a conversation I had while we were all watching the moon rise. One of my fellow observers was deeply disappointed about the "normal" color. :-).

Certainly a "big" moon instead of a "bad" moon but Creedence Clearwater Revival immediately came to mind (now I can't get the song out of my head) ;-).  Superb shot with detail in the moon, excellent reflection and a boat added in for dessert... Mike
