I'm usually a person who likes to include the basement of statues, monuments etc., because it seems more real to me. But I acknowledge that it is a very personal bias. here I'd have done a step back and included even a small portion of the pavement. It looks too tightly cropped to me... (:-)

Thanks, Donato. I think I was focused on capturing the detail of the serpent and didn't give adequate thought to the overall composition. Jim
