Thanks for your comment, Jack.  I liked this simple pattern of the horizontal branch punctuated with the small vertical stalks.  The woods itself  is a lush, vibrant visual feast, but without some form or structure it is too amorphous to hold one's interest by itself.

You found a nice motif in a sun-lit forest. That's not easy to do. Most images would come out confused with too many details competing for attention, and poorly exposed (too contrasty). I like this scene. The fence-like structure created by the fallen tree is a nice touch, but even without that it would be a very pleasing image. Well done!
