Elephant Art

I was a bit of each when a Thai friend insisted we visit this elephant

(camp/preserve or whatever?). I had no idea that elephants were capable of this

sort of artistry. The paintings seemed to be going from $75 to $300 depending

on amount of detail and subject matter. Chinese tourists were the most active

buyers.

An excellent documentation.  I've seen this performance (or activity) before and can't decide if it's just training or if the elephant actually has artistic input.  Regardless, it's impressive... Mike

You just make a nice capture of the amazing ability of this Elephant. The color and composition in one photo are very gut.

Man, and I have trouble taking some images in focus. This is amazing. I have watched a documentary on elephants and their amazing intelligence. how they do this is beyond me. Thanks so much for sharing this Jim. Well balanced display from 'start to finish'. When I think of it, I don't know if I would do as well as the elephant!
