Wow! We are always so glad to follow what's going on in your "neck of the woods", in your case " neck of the huge pool!"

Opening day is always spectacular as the boats must respect a 6h00 sharp departure and then it is a race to the choice fishing spots.....a sailor's delight as you can appreciate.Thank you for the note.

Salutations amicales-Laurent

Thank you! A new season has now opened but much less spectacular(photowise) than this.Herring fishing is a night activity(spectacular but hard to film) and the boats trickle out slowly in the late afternoon;return is dependant on the catch....lucky ones will load early and return to base in the middle of the night or early morning with 100 barrels on board,a limit imposed by the Fisheries Dept to prevent accidents(sinking) that excess of this can cause when the sea is anything but calm.Mackerel fishing is also started,a daytime activity and done by hand with multi hook lines;a lot of the mackerel fished now is frozen and sold back to the fishermen at a premium in the spring as bait for lobster.....and this is how this fisherman' world turns.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
