Tall and thin!

These strange(for me) and beautiful mushrooms stood erect in the

shaded underwood.Anybody know what these are named?Thank you for your

One of the names for these is  Indian pipes.  Glad you enjoy your mushrooms - just think, what, 50 more days till snow?  :)

Thank you for the info.This is just in my ''annual'' walk in the woods near the cottage to seek the colorful fungii;first time I ever spotted these.With the cold/wet summer we had,I am almost looking forward to that first snow....Kidding aside,the last two weeks have been very ''summery'' with unusually high temperatures,a departure from our 15th August cooldown slope.
