You had the eye even back then. This is beautifully composed and for all it's jagged and splintery tree trunks and fallen limbs, it seems to possess a remarkable sense of calm

thanks Jack!  What's interesting to me is how much the landscape has changed since then.  There were some major changes made to the water table since then and the lake is now much higher, so this particular shoreline is now underwater and there is much more vegetation growing along the shoreline. Totally different.

As Jack said, a very eye catching landscape.  The D70 and my first digital, the D50, were very under appreciated for the results they turned out... Mike

The image says as many good things about the photographer as it does about the camera. Great composition and foreground detail!

 I still have some favourites taken with my first dslr Nikon D40 and kit lens.
