Good to receive your reaction to this shot.  One of the few I took with the action heading my way.  (easy rule to forget in the moment, when the action is happening) This guy (Brandon Whitaker) got the ball OK but with the bloodhounds this close he didn't get far with it. :-(  Still, the game ended with his team on top..................just!  :-)  Exciting game enjoyed with my son & grandsons.  Best, Len.

Yah, he's headed in the right direction but seems to be momentarily distracted.  Hard to know what he was concerned about;  could be the unseen 300+ lb. blocker coming to the aid of #3.  :-)  Thanks for your participation.  Best, Len.

Most of these sports shots taken from the stands were heavily cropped.  I was pushing the quality limits of my equipment but still I got a few satisfying results (to me). Says a lot for the modern DSLR.  Always good to hear from you.  Best, Len.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.  One of the few shots where I remembered to shoot when the action was coming toward me.  Best, Len.

One of what I consider my successes of the game.  An element of luck is present in all my action shots.  Luck is good!  :-)  Thanks for your kind appraisal.  Best, Len.

This picture intrigues me, not by the main action of the guy stretching his arms out waiting for the ball, or the guy who will violently collide with him once he does, but rather the third guy in the background. His preoccupation with something off screen appears somewhat odd, even eccentric, especially give that there is only one ball, and his job eyes should be glued on to the guy catching the ball, in case #45 misses the tackle. But, ah, his eyes are looking intently and intensely with trepidation at something we cannot see. WHAT in heavens name is it? Ah, but I recall in my days at Portland State football practice, when the coach used to tell us in the voice of an Old Testament prophet: "but, keep your head on a swivel. Don't lollygag out there. That little receiver you see out the corner of your eyes, pay attention to him, or he WILL lay your ass out if you don't notice him." Violent and sometimes senseless sport.
