There is a Garden Centre near by where I really enjoy spending a

few hours taking images - even when it is really hot. The staff are

used to me hanging about and are really amicable. Actually it is the

same place where I took the image of the little Beetle (few photos

back). I got to talking to one of the fellows that was watering the

flowers and he soon knew I was on the hunt for bees. I saw more of

the bigger Bumble Bees early in the Spring, but ever since then,

there are hardly any. I soon heard this young lad's voice calling me.

He'd spied a bee. I think it was one of the only ones I saw in 2 hours.

Usually this place is crawling with bees. It's really starting to get a bit

scary when you don't see or hear bees when you are out in your

yard, let alone a Garden Centre. One of the ladies inside told me that

she 'hand pollinates' her flowers, just in case the bees are not there

to do their job - one that we never had to worry about until about the

last 10 years. If something is not done soon, food crops all over

North America are going to be drastically affected. Who would have

ever thought our bees could become an 'Endangered Species' ???

(would love to hear if any of you are seeing many of these much

needed insects this year--thanks for any visits, Gail)

Great "softness" around "Master Bee", suberb photo.

Yes, I see a lot of bees around in a park in middle of Montréal.

Thanks for reminding their utilities as they are also part of our world.

I like the mirrored image effect Gail, very nice. Now as far as the missing bee mystery goes, I can't help you except to say I have seen some of the bigger ones but like you it was earlier in the season.....Hmm you piqued my interest, will have to investigate further :D

Best Always, Holger

Giangiorgio -  Thank you for your visit and those generous words of critique, truly is appreciated.

Tina           - Glad you enjoyed it Tina. You know me well.

Patsy         - I haven't tried printing it yet, but might just do that!

Holger       - Thanks so much for your visit Holger, and for letting me know what you have seen of the bees this summer. I just read an article tonight in the paper that alluded to the troubles ahead for mankind if we 'loose' our bee populations. It spoke of how bees were not native to North America and were brought here from Europe. The one bee that seems 'mirrored' is actually another shot of the same bee :)

Peter          - I appreciate your creativity and thought it might strike a chord with you. I am starting to see a few more of the smaller honey bees.

MASSIMO   - You lovely words always make me want to work more. Sincere thanks for your visit!

Pierre         - Sincere thanks for your visit and kind words of critique. Many thanks for letting me know what you have seen of the bees this summer.

Ruud        - Always grateful for your kind encouragement Rudd.

the important detail in the main flower are very clear and gut captured.

The composition and  expression in the color  in the background are great.

Well done..! Greeting
