I am 'lost in the layers' once again. When I first saw this image I

almost didn't see the little traveller holding on tightly. I don't know if

many will see it - and that may be my fault. But then again maybe

you will. When I discovered it, I thought to myself how so often there

are those who are almost non-descript in our daily walk through life.

So much else grabs out attention and time. These are the ones who

sometimes 'slip through the cracks', or it could be the opposite.

Perhaps these little ones who are barely seen are actually the ones

who go through time with an attitude and demeanor that would put

us all to shame. Maybe we are the ones who are not really seeing

what is important - so wrapped up in the obvious and what

is 'trending'?? Could it be there is merit in not being obvious and

outspoken? Sometimes we are so easily distracted by all that is

beautiful and shiny and the useless occupation of self importance.

Hopefully when we stray this way, we will soon get back on track.

(always welcome your thoughts shared, Gail :)

gail, the title grabs my attention. So often, it seems, that walking through life is as you describe, and, ultimately, for every being.

I like the celebratory flowery centerpiece and detect, perhaps, there is an animal to the left?

About your your musing about those who go through life under the radar.  I once taught a student, a boy, who never talked in class. He was rather nondescript, and I put a lot of effort to get him to participate.   When he finally did, it turned out he was filled with hate. I had inadvertently unlocked a damn in which he expressed his disdain for everything. The lesson I learned was that not everything or everyone who blends into the woodwork is something or someone to open up. They are just like the rest of us.

Gail, seeing the colorful folds of life and that what is sprouting out I am reassured that there is no destination unknown. Everything serves a purpose, mostly unknown because of our lack of imagination or our lack of time. But happily for us there are sometimes, mostly spontaneously, images that help us remember. Until now the word I was searching for is soul candy. Thank you,

Herman

The flowers appear to be folds of velvety cloth.  Great one, Gail.  Love the textures, the mood, everything.

This one gets a "7" and goes to my faves folder.

Kind of a diamond in the rough theory Gail. The image is wonderful and so is your ever hopeful attitude, I applaud it.

I really appreciated your thoughts expressed here. I may have inadvertently (not intended) that those who are not noticed...blend into the woodwork...may have a lot to contribute.  With Social Media, so many are so 'out there' for everyone to see. So many details of their lives, where they are, what they bought, what they want, often creating lives that are really perhaps not as great or exciting as they want their 'followers' to believe, and in the case of those in the Media.....well it goes on a much bigger scale. I understand what you mean about that little boy. I think it sheds light on some of those who have been involved in the 'mass shootings' in the past few years. Many seemed like quiet people. I worked in our Health Care System where I saw so many 'very unfortunate cases'. I think these kind of people exist in both areas of Society. ** on a lighter note, because of all the layers I used you may not see it, but there is a Tinsy Moth hanging onto the bottom stamen of the Fuschia on the right.....he's just hanging on there, non decscript.....just along for the ride or in a thought that I was trying to express-we can't really see this tiny fella but he could represent those who are not so easily seen but may have the opportunity to be wise and enjoying their existence without 'being needy' or have the 'need' to be expressing all the details of his life for anyone else to see. I should have mentioned this 'tiny fellow' from the first. Thanks so much Donna re the little boy. There are so many out there but perhaps by identifying what he kept hidden - hopefully there are those who can help with his anger. If we don't ever see it or know about it, he is sort of a 'lost' one.

When I titled it "Destination Unknown", in my mind I was picturing someone who is free enough and accepts themselves and is 'happy' in their own skin - NOT to have a predetermined 'Destination'. That it is possible to have periods in our life where we really don't know where we are travelling to, but are enjoying the Journey, gleaning any good things from the trip along the way. Mind you we cannot always go through life like that. But what you say enters into this as well. I think there is a 'bigger plan' and we are Journeying towards it. There are usually a few hiccups along the way, but each experience good or bad in the end hopefully helps us grow. Life can be like an 'Unlimited Buffet', hopefully as we take a taste of all the 'goodies' we will have chosen those that not only taste good but help to enrich our lives. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom!

Fuschia are so magical in their appearance. The flowers themselves were almost dancing in the breeze and the tiny moth on the bottom Stamen on the flower on the right was just along for the ride, glad you enjoyed this one!
