Firstly, getting to this tree was not easy. Elevation alone at the Ancient

Bristlecone Pine Forest was around 10,000ft where this particular tree was

made us grasp for air.Getting to where this bristlecone was required us to

follow a trail for a third of a mile with progressive elevation which made it

all the more difficult. Secondly, it was my first attempt to shoot the Milky

Way and had to remember all the tips I received from a friend a day before

on how to produce the natural spectacle. Test shots, exposure shots and

when the Milky Way was visible, there was no point turning back. Thanks

for viewing and I appreciate all your comments and ratings. Please click the

You chose a good time to shoot this sky-  there is just a little bit of red remaining from the sunset.  The stars are wonderful.  There is just enough shadows of hills and other trees to add interest.  And the illumination of the bristlecone tree is just right.  This picture is well worth all the effort you made to get it.  Excellent result!

I am truly amazed by this capture Lester. I don't know (in my limited experience) how it could get much better. Congrats on all the efforts you took to obtain this capture. Sounds like such an adventure. What better way to spend 'the best days of your life'?? Nature at it's most incredible.

I have seen much better photos of the Milky Way but I don't complain having produced this image on my first attempt. Your words are always precious to me.

Thanks! - LESTER
