I like these kinds of pictures. They're not the "calendar" photo version of the river but they have an inescapable aura of authenticity. They avoid the stereotypical and therein lies their beauty.

Thanks Jack.  I finally had the chance to get the camera out to the park.  I had a few spots I wanted to photograph just before sunset.  This was one of them.  In fact, the last bunch of photos I posted were from that bike ride.

Mississippi shoreline in the evening. I was attracted to the textures

and colors, as well as the composition of the rocks and sticks.
