The large amounts of brick, concrete, and metal give the scene a hard, industrial, sterile, barren, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable feel.  Even the bench is flat, cold, and hard-edged.  Yet, a couple has found this place suitable for a rest and some intimacy.  Quite a contrast in feelings.  I wonder why everyone else in the photo is moving away from the couple.  Compositionally, the man's dark shirt attracts the eye, especially juxtaposed with the white clothes of the woman.  It is a shot that holds my attention while I invent stories.

Hi Jack, you managed to get here an intriguing composition for me. Apart from the previous commentd feel of two photos, I find kind of ironic that most of the human elements look like they are doing their best to get out of this composition except the seated couple at the midle... it's a kind of an apocalyptic feel (also reinforced by the industrial background)... some try to run away in despair from it and some accept it in peace.

... obviously a great photo.
