Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 16, 2015 I'm a sucker for spirals especially when they are as colorful and decorative as this. It could be a fractal detail from a Mandelbrot set. Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted July 17, 2015 Wow Jack, thank you! Ruud, always too kind! Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted July 17, 2015 Built in 1902, as this old man sez, they don't make em like this anymore Link to comment
Rick Bortnick 2,167 Posted July 17, 2015 Tony,Jacks right about it being Fractalish. I really like the strong arcs receding downwards to the (off) centered bottom. Illumination on the steps, nice, accentuating the curves. Nicely done.Rick Link to comment
benjamin_kim 0 Posted July 17, 2015 What a wonderful shot. Great strong lines in the spiral and I like the vignetting effect around the frame. Perfectly captured. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted July 17, 2015 All the above, plus I like the composition. Heights don't bother me so my mind was free to see this in another plane, horizontal. In that view it looks like a huge tunnel with ornate beams (but then, I have weird eyes sometimes) ;-). Excellent stuff... Mike Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted July 17, 2015 Jack, thank you for the great observation and the kind words.Benjamin, you know part of your name has the word "jamin" in it you rock my friend! Mike, I am afraid of heights but when I saw this shot I had to put all fears aside to capture the shot, thanks my man! Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted July 17, 2015 I also am a sucker for these kinds of images and when you add the color combo then it becomes a 'killer' shot as long as you don't lean over too much (*_*). Link to comment
hyde 0 Posted July 18, 2015 A very attractive image - lines, shapes, and colour. I think I would shave off the nondescript grey strip immediately south of the focal red semicircle. Best regards. Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted July 18, 2015 Tony, Yes, I need to be careful, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end....Vlad, you are most kind! Jon, great observation. I did play with that gray spot, every thing I try to diminish it makes it look fabricated, perhaps if you have some insight on how to repair that I would be interested. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted July 20, 2015 Tony you've captured this perfectly. The composition and lines are set up just right. A series of ever smaller half circles to the end. We know we are looking down yet but the illusion we are looking straight ahead is there. Great shot.BR, Holger Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 258 Posted July 21, 2015 Bravo, Tony! This is what I call pure perfection and extraordinary beauty! Seven without a doubt! Best regards PDE Link to comment
