A great shot! I love high contrast shots with near black skies. I do feel that the bottom 10% can be cropped off to lower the tree line a little. I think that might make this a stronger image. Well done overall.

PLAYING LIKE I WAS THE GOOGLE PHOTO BUGGY:

This is another shot made more or less randomly (and one-handedly) as I drove up the road at fifty-five miles per hour, on a trip of sixty plus miles that I made every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon during the spring term, from Wingate University back to Salisbury. Almost all were shot toward the open passenger side window while my eyes were looking at the road ahead of me.  Most of the time I was not shooting, of course, but, if I noticed something interesting up ahead, I would shoot to my right as I went by.

I had to toss most pictures, of course, but a few were more or less usable--at least after rotation and some cropping.

Typical exposure data: ISO 800 to 1600, f/8, up to 1/8000 sec

Focal length: 24 mm

Sensor: 36 megapixel, full-frame (Nikon D800E) [One or two days I shot the Nikon D7000.]  Most days I shot nothing.

Once in a while, for some subjects, I would stop the car and shoot on foot.  Upon some rare occasions, I would turn around and go back and stop the car and make a lot of shots on foot if the subject was really promising.

Most shots not made as noted above were shot with my cell phone camera.

After download to my computer, using Irfan View, I could later quickly review the day's harvest of photos to see if there was anything worth a second look.
