Image of this young horse was taken at my son's home. Fortunately

he has neighbors that have a few young horses that were eager to

be seen and seemed to enjoy our 'conversations'. This composition

is entered under Digital Alterations. Your visits, comments, and/or

advice is always welcome. Many thanks, Gail:)

Gail, Very simply one of your best in my opinion. The eye and its reflection, the colors and detail and the distant horse in the background are the winning elements in making this a joy to behold.

Best Always,  Holger

Gail,

I agree with Holger...this is one of your best shots and one of my favorites.  Well focused, tack-sharp, nice b/g, excellent tones, etc...There is a lot to like about this one.  BRAVO!

I like the harmony of colors. The warm background compliments the brown texture of the foreground animal, while the pink strap perfectly compliments and balances the rest of the scene.

Nicely composed montage ! The edge between horse and background is a tad soft . If you used a a mask a harder brush might have been better . I may be completely wrong , just typing my thoughts ! I do like the background though ! Bill

A lovely almost tangible image, it feels like you could reach out and touch him.  I like the dewy eyed dream like quality of the of the image, it has a great deal of character!

Compliments & Best Regards

Great closeup portrait of beautiful tones, and line (in other words, a horse). Great crop. Those background trees that you put in there are perfect. Bravo.

Thank you so much for your visits. I do appreciate your thoughts expressed. Where I have the trees and the hose and fence line - the light was so bright that - that area of the photo was so blown. I like the gentle nature of his eyes and didn't want to toss the shot. Thanks so much for your encouragement.

Thanks Alf. I do appreciate your thoughts shared. I was quite close to the horse. He was only a few feet away. Such a beautiful boy.

I think I need more practise with the harder brushes. The sun had blown out the area beyond the horse's face, the hair of the horse where you see it lighter did not have a definite 'end point' - it was much lighter as well. I did not succeed with the harder brush but will try again. Many thanks for the suggestion!

I am late responding, my apologies. I am glad to hear you found merit in this composition. I was quite close to him - the fence was in the way, but he was not afraid of me which was good.
