Surprise....surprise!

This leg of the wharf collapsed in an instant....fortunately when all

the lobster boats normally tied to it were out at sea,so imagine the

surprise of the fishermen on their return at base.Nobody was hurt and

the only occupants/witnesses,a few fishermen bringing bait to the end

of the wharf were left on the portion that avoided the collapse. Thank

This serves two purposes admirably. It's a documenting of a dramatic event of some note to the community but it also stands out as a beautifully produced composition that attracts one's interest on purely aesthetic grounds.

Thank you.I took this primarily for record purposes as I have many shots here in ''happier times'' with boats tied on both sides of this leg.Glad you also find some merit in the composition.

The symbol, presumably "No Parking" takes on greater importance with your story.  It's not a funny happening but it would be amusing to watch the fishermen when they return... Mike

Definitely ...the NO PARKING plus the NO ACCESS signs had been very visible for some time,but you know how it is. I attach a file photo of this section of wharf with the boats tied to it much like it was earlier that morning....imagine if it had collapsed then,so there was a positive side to the incident.Yes,to see the fishermen's faces on return would have been something although with the communications nowadays,they were all advised as it happened eliminating the element of surprise.
